Abstract
This dialogic, poetic critical inquiry will explore the opportunities for connection and the emotional labours expended when two global Africans living abroad in Australia have to navigate media making via Zoom. Critical race theory as well as film and literature that centres Black protagonists within Speculative fiction, Sci-Fi, and Slave narratives will be used for analysis of counternarratives. Focus will be on the act of storying oneself for others, how one may be read in this collective storytelling, how one might re-story oneself, and how one might boldly go where no Afrofuturistic being has gone before.
