note = "2 video installation Curated by Sergio Hernandez. There are significant differences between the installation of 2011 (Mar{\'i}a) and the suite of installations of 2013 (Wilhelm, Habanera and Triumvirate). For instance, the work of 2011 (Mar{\'i}a) is a five-channel silent video installation that focuses on the gestuality of the subject as means to raise questions about power, authority, identity and originality. This is clearly different to the seven-channel sound and video installation of 2013 (Habanera), which — even if using the same subject and similar technical means — incorporates sound to generate a situation of far more complexity. In Mar{\'i}a I slowed down, fragmented and muted found archival footage, confronting the audience with a purely visual experience. But in Habanera, through the incorporation of distorted fragments of the original soundtrack, I confronted the audience with a multisensory experience. This is a significant difference, and an example where the synthesis, analysis and transformation of previous research is new and creative, generating new concepts, inventions and understandings. Similarly, the additional two works exhibited in 2013 (Wilhelm and Triumvirate) significantly differ to the work of 2011 (Mar{\'i}a), particularly in relation to their form, scale, materiality, content and spatial arrangement. This is evidenced in the images I have attached. Lastly, another significant difference is that the three installations of 2013 worked as an encompassed suite; where relented, fractured and overlapped sounds and moving images were deployed in strategic dialogue, generating a haunting atmosphere that ultimately transforms and expands my research. ; In Transition ; Conference date: 21-08-2013 Through 01-09-2013",
