    Abstract

In this concluding chapter, we reflect on the capacity of critical research within the fields of sport, health and physical education to challenge injustices and produce social transformation. We structure our review, in relation to the chapters in this text, by discussing the transformative value of critique, the role of social theory for developing strategies for enacting social change, and the importance of combining research actions with social and political interventions. In the final section, we discuss various ways forward with respect to making a difference via critical research processes.
