Vibrio: detecting you earlier, avoiding gastroenteritis and GUT microbiome dysbiosis

Trillions of bacteria microflora reside in our gastrointestinal system. Any interruption to this microflora community leads to the pathophysiology of many diseases, including gastroenteritis. Vibrio sp. is a significant diarrheal pathogen responsible for gastroenteritis attributed to their natural microbiota in the seafood and environments. Upon invasion, they release virulence toxins and colonize the gut, leading to gut dysbiosis. Hence, early and rapid detection of this Vibrio sp. in the environment and seafood is crucial. Detection of Vibrios during the early stages of infections allows for effective treatment and management of outbreaks. Therefore, this systematic review aims to provide insight into a variety of diagnostic techniques for rapid detection of Vibrio sp.
