Abstract
The infra-red spectra (3650-375 cm-1 of triphenylphosphine, triphenylphosphine oxide and of thirteen complexes of the former ligand and five complexes of the latter ligand are reported, together with the Raman spectrum of the first compound. Vibrational assignments of the spectra are proposed, and characteristic frequency shifts of triphenylphosphine on coordination are discussed.
