Abstract

This article comes as a collaboration between Penelope as a mathematics educator and Sue as a literacy expert working together to deliver a literacy and numeracy across the curriculum unit to preservice teachers in an initial teacher education course at Monash University. This unit of study recognises the need to link to students' strengths, interests and dispositions to find ways to interest them in learning about literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.
