Abstract
In this paper, I explore innovative strategies for teaching writing in middle years literacy education. I advocate for viewing writing as a dynamic, creative process that can potentially foster agency and positive risk-taking. Practical strategies for writing include diverse writing stimuli, collaborative writing, the use of technologies, and supportive feedback. Writing can become a powerful means for self-expression, creativity, and critical thinking. I offer a new model and an imaginative teacher scenario to embody the principles of producing confident and engaged young writers.
