Abstract

Family violence against women increased after the Black Saturday bushfires, revealing a much neglected area of disaster recovery. A new report 'The way he tells it...' Relationships after Black Saturday (2011) by Debra Parkinson and Claire Zara, of Women's Health Goulburn North East documents research conducted over two years from late 2009 to 2011 in the fire-affected shires of Mitchell and Murrindindi in Victoria's north-east.
