Abstract
Dynamic triaxial compression tests for the Bukit Timah granite were conducted at four strain rates and six confining pressures. Results show that the compressive strength generally increases with increasing strain rate and confining pressure. The rate of increment of compressive strength with strain rate is lower at higher confining pressures. While the results for the Young's modulus and the Poisson's ratio at different strain rates and confining pressures are scattered.
