Transactive Multi-Agent Systems over Flow Networks

Abstract

This paper presents insights into the implemen-tation of trans active multi-agent systems over decentralized flow networks. Agents have local resource demand and supply and are interconnected through a flow network to support resource sharing while respecting capacity constraints. We establish a competitive market with a pricing mechanism that internalizes flow capacity constraints into agents' decisions. We demonstrate the existence and equivalence of competitive equilibrium and social welfare equilibrium under convexity assumptions. We introduce a social acceptance sharing problem and propose a method to solve it by prescribing socially admissible utility functions. We provide a pedagogical example for linear-quadratic multi-agent systems. Extensive experiments validate our results.
