Abstract

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a symbol synchronization method for spectrallysliced optical receivers with MIMO equalizer signal reconstruction in a PM-16QAM 56-GBd 20x400G testbed. A novel timing error detector extracts sampling phase information from equalizer coefficients.
