Abstract
This chapter explores the choices I made when choosing between multiple potential field sites. It tells the story of how I came to realise that a particular school was not going to work as a research site despite its promising early indications. In deciding on research sites, I discuss the importance of a champion to support you in the research site and the benefits of finding a legitimate role in the school community.
