Abstract

Dibromo- and di-iodobis(triphenylphosphine)cadmium(II) complexes are converted by ethyl bromide to bis(triphenylethylphosphonium) tetrabromocadmate(II). Reaction of each with methyl iodide gives bis(triphenylmethylphosphonium) tetraiodocadmate(II).
