Abstract

The conversion of halo(triphenylphosphine)mercury(II) complexes to quaternary halomercurate(II) complexes by alkyl halides has been studied. Halogen exchange frequently occurs where the halogens of the reactants differ. Reaction between quaternary halomercurate(II) complexes, and alkyl halides containing a different halogen, has been shown to occur.
