Abstract
Musique concrète composer Lionel Marchetti is the principal artist diffusing the electronic works of Éliane Radigue in concert settings. Based in Lyon, France, Marchetti has delivered Radigue’s music to live audiences across the world. In this interview with Australian composer/performer Cat Hope, translated by Charlotte Mackay, Marchetti discusses how he came to do this work and how he has experienced it through the years. In addition to personal reflections, anecdotes, and memories of working with Radigue and her music, the interview includes reproductions of Marchetti’s poems inspired by Radigue’s works, quotes from poets that have influenced Marchetti, and reflections on Marchetti’s own compositions and creative processes.
