Abstract

Massive stars with masses more than 8 times our sun are in most cases known to dramatically end their lives by exploding as core-collapse supernovae.Recent large-scale astronomical surveys are now enabling us to see the appearance of some of these massive stars prior to their death. Observations of these progenitor stars which have been stripped of their outer envelope have been especially valuable, providing us many clues to understand their past evolution.In this article I will introduce our work on a supernova named iPTF13bvn and how we can understand the progenitor evolution from various observational data.
