Abstract

The microwave spectra of 1-cyanoprop-2-yne HCCCH₂CN) and 1-isocyanoprop-2-yne (HCCCH₂CN) have been assigned in the region 26.5-40.0 GHz. The dipole moments, derived from Stark measurements, 3.61(3) and 3.71(2) D, respectively, are compared with other cyanides and isocyanides, and the rotational constants have been used to derive geometric information.
