Abstract

The Media Kit: A Frame-by-Frame Guide to Visual Production takes both student and teacher through a journey of learning and discovery in the realm of cinematic production while remaining true to what is important: content, aesthetics, fundamentals.

Book 1: SCRIPTWRITING and PREPRODUCTION covers the basics of writing from cinematic standpoint. It anchors learning in the basics: storyline, plot, milieu and characterization while keeping the activities engaging and relevant to the construction of new knowledge. As the foundation to BOOK 2, this volume also covers corporate two-column scripting as well as discussion of production roles and preproduction.

Book 2: PRODUCTION and POSTPRODUCTION covers the skills and techniques of visualization from the planning, to the shooting, to the editing. What theory is discussed is used as foundations for interesting and engaging hands-on activities that are flexible to the needs of the teacher or the student. Taking off from the experience of BOOK 1, this volume expands the realm of the student's reach: giving them exposure and experience in producing works that are relevant to their training.
