Abstract
Corporate governance is seen as a means of promoting improved corporate behaviour. However, in the area of corporate social responsibility (CSR) issues such as human rights and corruption which companies face, corporate governance currently plays a very limited role. This briefing aims to highlight this limitation and suggest ways corporate governance could be more effective in dealing with such CSR issues.
