Abstract
For instance, the first thing to note is that there are six volumes in the Collected Works of L.S. Vygotsky, and they are challenging to read, as others have also found: ‘The recursive acts of reading demanded by Vygotsky’s texts reveal the rich layers of meaning that are concealed beneath a literary style that seems designed to allow the reader to hear the writer thinking and grappling with ideas’ (Miller 2011: 1).
