This a music performance and rendered recording output in the form of a CD album of premiere recorded performances of Decibel Ensemble of 6 works commissioned by French music concrete composer Lionel
Marchetti, and 2 collaborative compositions by Marchetti and Cat Hope. The CD documents the results of the question: How can music concreté, a historic, fixed media format, be translated into live performance?
Decibel worked with Marchetti to develop a series of composition and performance methodologies that investigate how manipulated field recordings can combine with live acoustic performance to redefine
‘music concrete’ in recorded performance.
