Abstract
This article considers the impact of cultural, legal, historical and religious factors on the interpretation and application of the CISG. The article first examines the effect of these factors on the CISG globally and then pinpoints their influence on the Convention in the context of the specific legal systems of the Common Law, Civil Law and Islamic Law.
