Abstract
The interaction of plasticity and diffusion controlled precipitation reactions was studied. The occurrence of precipitation modified the yield stress, via structural hardening or modification of solid solution content. The resulting microstructural evolution was examined in terms of modification of the thermodynamic driving forces and the kinetic response by plasticity.
