Seven populations of P. lateralis (3 island, 4 mainland) were examined in this study (Fig. 1): North Pearson, Middle-South Pearson and Wedge Islands, South Australia (P. l. pearsoni); Arltunga, Northern Territory (P. l. MacDonnell Ranges race); Tutakin, Sales Rock and Mt Caroline, Western Australia (P. l. lateralis).
