Abstract
Committee for Melbourne’s (the Committee’s) members recognise the
extraordinary benefits that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already delivering
via efficiency and effectiveness gains in augmented decision-making (e.g.
medical diagnosis) and autonomous decision-making (e.g. cybersecurity).
Our members also recognise the importance of Melbourne and Australia
being at the forefront of the development, adoption and deployment of AI. With the
sustained level of investment being made in AI, the pace of advances will continue
to accelerate.
