Abstract

In this article, a theoretical reflection about the use of the portfolio as a method for teaching and learning languages applied to a possible digital environment will be presented. In order to elaborate this reflection it has been necessary to carry out a descriptive analysis of the European Language Portfolio, both from the point of view of the linguistic competences as well as the intercultural competences that it intends to develop. Therefore, the main pedagogical aspects of this innovative methodology in the area of foreign languages will be exposed as an example of good practices. The results obtained through this analysis will be applied, as a reflection, to the context of the disciplinary area of Computer Aided Language Learning. In this context, aspects such as the development of learner autonomy in relation to the European Language Portfolio will be emphasized. The conclusions will contribute to the knowledge of this model applied in Europe for the improvement of the foreign language proposals through this methodology and its possible application in the future European context of language learning and intercultural competences in higher education. The ultimate goal of this communication is therefore to continue advancing in the knowledge of the use of educational technology applied to new forms of learning.
