Abstract
The Advisory Group believes that a national focus on research into the effectiveness of initial teacher education programs is needed. Research should focus on building an evidence base to inform the design of initial teacher education programs and teacher professional development (Teacher Education Ministerial Advisory Group 2014 , p. 48).
