Abstract

The fluoroarylgermylene bis[2,4,6-tris(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]germanium(II) was synthesized by the reaction of 2 equiu of [2,4,6-tris(trifluoromethyl)-phenyl]lithium with GeCl₂·dioxane. This monomeric germylene has good thermal stability, despite having the least sterically encumbering set of stabilizing ligands of any alkyl germylene isolated to date.
