Abstract
This symposium aims to empower healthcare professionals to excel in their fields by developing adaptive expertise to deliver high-quality patient care. At the heart of this Symposium is the “Master Adaptive Learner” model (Cutrer et al, 2017), emphasising the role of ‘learning for adaptability’ in healthcare and its significance for ongoing professional growth. The symposium offers participants practical techniques for integrating this model into health education, showcasing the effectiveness of experiential learning and facilitating reflection. It also highlights the significance of assessment, feedback, and self-evaluation and offers strategies for using assessment tools that promote reflection, self-regulation, and continuous improvement as a learner. The symposium concludes by emphasising the importance of establishing supportive learning environments that foster the growth of healthcare professionals. By promoting adaptability, self-regulated learning, and growth mindset, the goal is to prepare healthcare providers to thrive in the ever-evolving healthcare landscape.
