Abstract

An improved method was proposed to design superconducting shim coil with smooth rounded corner, which can signifi cantly ease the windingand fabrication, and augment the magnetic fi eld accuracy. A quantitative comparison between the shim coil using the improved strategy and theconventional standard design shows clear advantage.
