Abstract
This paper presents a novel design and development of tapered line stepped impedance resonators (SIR) band pass filters using EBG structures. EBGs are studied in order to suppress the spurious harmonics of the filter. The proposed EBG structure finds promising applications in suppressing the spurious harmonics in filters which has a tremendous application in hybrid microwave integrated circuits (HMICs) and monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs).
