Abstract

Primary imines can be readily prepd. from 2-hydroxyaryl ketones by reaction with ammonium iodide and piperidine under solvent-free conditions. E.g., (2-hydroxybenzoyl)pyridine gave 100 2-hydroxyphenyl(2-pyridyl)methylimine. [on SciFinder(R)]
