Abstract
The simulation of flow of cohesive powder in a gas-fluidized bed using a combined continuum and discrete model was discussed. The typical gas-solid flow patterns, when the ratio of Van der Wall forces to particle weight was changed, were examined. The analysis showed that the fluidisation behavior changed from smooth, quasi- to de-fluidisation as the van der Wall force relative to gravitational force increased.
