Simulation of blast wave propagation in jointed rock mass using UDEC

Abstract

The coupled method of UDEC and AUTOYN-2D was used to simulate the propagation of blast waves in a jointed rock mass and the influence of joints on the propagation. The AUTODYN was used to simulate explosion process and blast waves to provide the explosion input to the UDEC modeling used to simulate explosion process and blast waves to provide the explosion input to the UDEC modeling used to simulate the propagation of blast waves in a jointed rock mass. The research shows that it is reasonable to use this coupling method to simulate the explosion process and the propagation of blast waves in a jointed rock mass.
