Abstract

Indicator 5.B.1: Mobile Phone Ownership Gap
Malaysia has high mobile phone ownership throughout the country. However, the mobile ownership gap between gender could be narrowed.

Gender Wage Gap
Malaysian states have largely narrowed the gender wage gap irrespective of the developmental level of the state. However, highly developed states requires more action to close their existing gender gap.

Labour Force Participation Rate
While the Goal performance for this indicator does not register dismal situation, Malaysia's women labour force participation rate is one of the lowest among ASEAN countries. Only four states have attained the desired SDG target.
