Abstract

Understanding the characteristics of radioactive decay is essential both in materials science and in nuclear chemistry education. Allowing students to experiment with such phenomena offers significant benefits, particularly when real-life and tactile elements are preserved, as these play a key role in authentic cognitive experiences. In this work, a cloud chamber experiment implemented through Augmented Reality is presented as an effective means of achieving this. The tool was designed to guide students in conducting the experiment safely and correctly, while also enabling them to visualize and count ionization tracks from radioactive decay, thereby fostering an appreciation of their statistical nature.
