Abstract

Rubidium is an alkali metal of Group Ia of the periodic table with the atomic number of 37 and an average atomic mass of 85.4678, an electron configuration of [Kr] 5s1, and a valance state of +1. In elemental form, it is a very soft (0.3 Mohs scale), silvery-white metal that is extremely reactive, that is, it reacts violently with water and spontaneously ignites in air.
