Abstract
Dihydrogen and carbon dioxide react reversibly with the three-coordinate complex (Et3P)2PtGe[N(SiMe3)2]2. These reactions demonstrate the ability of germylenes to act as strong supporting ligands, while introducing new modes of reactivity via formal Ge(II) / Ge(IV) interconversion.
