Abstract

With media reports announcing TV's ongoing 'reboot craze', this chapter examines the continuing pull of women-in-prison (WIP) serials across industry shift and transformation, exploring the circuitous, self-generative cycle of revival and remaking set in motion by Australian TV classic Prisoner (1979-86) and its home-grown 'dark reboot' Wentworth (2013-21).
