Reducing nonlinear distortion in optical phase conjugation using a midway phase-shifting filter

The performance of optical phase conjugation (OPC) is improved by splitting the
nonlinear element and inserting a phase-shifting filter. The maximum signal quality increases by 1.2 dB for 800-km 4-QAM 224-Gb/s CO-OFDM.
