Abstract
The usefulness of a differential equation approach to the necessary age profile modeling is established and the basic models are extended to allow for a quantitative estimate of sludge production under various assumptions relating fiber loss to fiber age. The greenhouse gas (GHG) emission factors are introduced and several systems with different combinations of recycle, export, import and fiber loss rates are compared.
