Abstract
This paper presents a Unified State Variable constitutive model and its implementation into a finite element program. The implementation of this or other models into modern implicit finite element programs requires calculation of the Jacobian matrix. Various methods of determining the Jacobian matrix for advanced constitutive models are discussed and the performance of these assessed with numerical tests.
