This online RFUP will be used nationally and internationally by clinicians to facilitate conversations about mental health and substance use. Research Contribution: There is currently no RFUP available online. This research explored how the user experience (UX) would complement the interaction between health worker and consumer. The UX was designed to foreground the consumer (individual being treated) to respond to research that identified “the need for users to experience a sense of ‘self’ in the treatment which is currently absent [in online mental health tools].” (Knowles et al, 2014) Research Significance: With the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Drug, Alcohol and Mental Health Services will be under increasing pressure to provide best practice therapy in what will become a competitive environment. The RFUP will provide a point of difference when promoting their services. The RFUP will be launched May 10 at Docklands Library to 150 guests from the social work and community services sector.
