Abstract
LaMgNi4 ternary alloy was synthesized by sintering pressed tablets of mixed powders of Mg, La and Ni. The sintering condition is: 673K, 3h→873K, 3h→973K, 3h. XRD analysis shows that synthesized LaMgNi 4 alloy is a single-component alloy, and a laser particle size method was used to measure the particles of the milled LaMgNi4 alloy. The electrode properties of LaMgNi4 alloy were measured by simulated battery test. It was found that the initial discharge capacity of the two alloys milled for 50h were about 400mAh/g, but a good cycle life has been observed in the LaMgNi4 alloy electrode compared with the Mg 2Ni alloy electrode.
