Abstract

This report broadly outlines the content of the first of two sessions of the Policy Roundtable held by the Australian Academy of the Social Sciences in conjunction with its Annual Symposium, ‘People, Power, Water: Urban Water Services and Human Behaviour in Australia’, which was held at the Shine Dome, Canberra on 20 November 2007. This first session, which was chaired by Professor Leon Mann, was titled Water Consumption in an Urban Environment, and brought together experienced social science researchers, industry representatives and public policy officers in the field of water services delivery and use, to discuss urban water management in the context of the issues raised at the Symposium.
