Abstract
This paper reports on an experimental investigation of the mean flow and first order turbulence quantities for turbulent continuous jets at a source Reynolds number of 104 in water using cross-correlation particle image velocimetry. This work discusses attempts to resolve the out-of-plane vorticity at the scales of interest in this particularly challenging turbulent flow.
