Abstract
Propagating Multiple Internal Reflection (PMIR) systems have been functionalized with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) so as to obtain highly sensitive PDMS-based photonic bioreactors in which photonic, microfluidcs and recognition elements are merged in a single lab on a chip. Demonstration of the working principle was done by making absorbance measurements in ABTS solutions with increasing hydrogen peroxide concentrations, which allowed determining a sensitivity of 0.025±0.004 (a.u.)/μM and a LOD of 2.8±0.4 μM.
