Since 1995 Brazil's always volatile film industry has been going through a rebirth that has created a surge in popularity, both nationally and internationally, and an increase in the production of films that adhere to the technical norms of globalised film production. Fernando Meirelles and Katia Lund) proved a definitive moment in this new phase in the nation's film history.
