Abstract

The performance of component-interleaved multidimensional constellation over the Rayleigh fading channel was evaluated analytically. The concept of modulation diversity was introduced to enhance the error performance of communication systems over the Rayleigh channels. Several multidimensional signal sets with high diversity order were proposed to obtain substantial gains over conventional modulation schemes in a fading channels.
