Abstract
Peer Review Badges are a type of journal classification system that focuses on the strength of the publishers and journals and allows for greater transparency in peer-review invitations. The badges provide a transparent system that allows potential reviewers to properly assess whether they would like to review for a journal. Journals or Publishers could visually display badge classifications in email invitations and on websites, much like Open Science Badges (Center for Open Science, n.d.). Peer-review badges provide journal or publisher practice transparency. This will allow potential reviewers to make quick and informed judgements. These badges in JPEG and PNG form are open-access under creative commons (CC-BY) and can be downloaded, distributed, remixed, tweaked, and built upon (even commercially) with credit for the original creation.
